What is Phantomusic?
Phantomusic is a global marketplace where producers can sell their beats and instrumentals, and artists can discover and purchase high-quality music for their projects. Our platform connects talented producers with artists worldwide, providing a secure and straightforward way to buy and sell music.
How do I create an account?
Creating an account on Phantomusic is simple. Click the 'Sign Up' button in the top right corner of the homepage. You can register using your email address or sign up with your Google account. Once registered, you can set up your profile as either a producer, buyer, or both.
Is Phantomusic available worldwide?
Yes, Phantomusic is available globally. Producers and buyers from around the world can join our platform to sell and purchase music. All transactions are processed in US Dollars.
For Buyers
How do I purchase a beat?
To purchase a beat, browse our marketplace or search for specific genres or producers. When you find a beat you like, click on it to preview the full track. If you decide to purchase, click the 'Buy Now' button and follow the checkout process. After successful payment, you'll receive immediate access to download the files.
What payment methods are accepted?
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, etc.) through our secure payment processor, Stripe. All transactions are in US Dollars.
What do I receive after purchasing a beat?
After purchasing a beat, you'll receive the high-quality audio files as specified in the license type (e.g., WAV files, stems, or MP3). You'll be able to download these files immediately after purchase from your 'Purchases' section in your account. You'll also receive a license agreement outlining your usage rights.
Can I request a refund?
Due to the digital nature of our products, all sales are generally final. However, if you encounter legitimate technical issues with your download or if the product differs significantly from what was advertised, please contact our support team within 7 days of purchase, and we'll review your case.
For Producers
How do I sell my beats on Phantomusic?
To sell your beats, first create a producer account. Then, navigate to your dashboard and click 'Upload New Beat'. Fill in the details about your track, upload the audio files, set your pricing, define license terms, and submit for review. Once approved, your beat will be available in our marketplace.
How much commission does Phantomusic take?
Phantomusic operates on an 80/20 split model. As a producer, you receive 80% of the sale price, while Phantomusic retains 20% as a service fee. This fee covers platform maintenance, payment processing, secure file storage, and marketing efforts to bring buyers to the platform.
How and when do I get paid?
Payments are processed through Stripe. Your earnings will appear in your Phantomusic dashboard as soon as a sale is made. You can request a payout to your bank account once your balance reaches $25. Payouts are typically processed within 3-5 business days, depending on your bank.
What file formats should I upload?
For the best quality and user experience, we recommend uploading your beats in WAV format (44.1kHz, 16-bit or higher). For preview purposes, we automatically generate an MP3 version with our watermark. If you offer stem licenses, you should upload each stem as a separate WAV file.
Licensing & Copyright
What types of licenses are available?
Phantomusic supports various license types, including Non-Exclusive, Exclusive, and Custom licenses. As a producer, you can set your own license terms and pricing. Each license type clearly outlines what rights the buyer receives, such as usage limits, distribution caps, and whether stems are included.
Who owns the copyright to the beats?
Producers retain the copyright to their beats, even after sale. When a buyer purchases a beat, they are purchasing a license to use the beat according to the terms specified, not ownership of the copyright itself. Phantomusic acts solely as an intermediary platform and does not claim any ownership of the content.
What if I find my copyrighted content being sold without permission?
We take copyright infringement seriously. If you discover your copyrighted content being sold on our platform without authorization, please submit a copyright infringement notice to copyright@phantomusic.com. We will investigate promptly and remove infringing content in accordance with our Copyright Policy.
Technical & Security
How is my payment information protected?
All payment processing is handled by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor (the highest level of certification). Your sensitive payment details never touch our servers. All transactions occur over encrypted connections (SSL/TLS) to ensure your information remains secure.
How are the audio files protected?
All beats for sale are protected with our preview technology, which includes watermarking and quality limitations for preview purposes. Full-quality files are only made available to users who have purchased the appropriate license. Downloaded files are also tracked with unique identifiers to discourage unauthorized distribution.
What should I do if I encounter technical issues?
If you experience any technical issues, please first try clearing your browser cache and cookies, then restart your browser. If the problem persists, please contact our support team at support@phantomusic.com with details of the issue, including screenshots if possible, your device type, and browser version.
